Programs in New Zealand
Various programs are organized across New Zealand to celebrate 550th birthday of Guru Nanak Dev ji.
19th Oct: Udasi Walk, walk in the footsteps of Guru Nanak Sahib to celebrate his 550th birthday. 19th Oct, 10.30am onwards along the Hutt River near Avalon Park Wellington. The walk is the Hutt River Trail along Harcourt Werry Drive. (If raining, the postponed date will be 26th Oct). Organized by New Zealand Sikh society (Wellington) Inc.
4th Nov to 10th Nov: Ladi War Katha 550 Saal nu Samarpit. 4th to 9th Nov from 7pm to 8pm and on Sun 10th Nov 11am to 12pm at Gurudwara Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib, 4/3034 Great North Rd, New Lynn, Auckland.
12th Nov: Celebrating Baba Nanak’s 550th Birth Anniversary and free food distribution on 12th Nov, 12pm to 2pm at The Citizens’ War Memorial on Lambton Quay (Cenotaph), organized by High Commission of India, Wellington, New Zealand
12th Nov: Special Guru Purab and Purnima Maha prasad / Langar (Community meal) with chhabeel (sweetened drink made from milk, sugar, rose essence) to celebrate Guru Purab at Bhartiya Mandir, 252 Balmoral Road, Mt Albert, Auckland
14th Nov: Celebrating 550th Birthday Ceremony of Guru Nanak Dev ji Haryana Federation NZ in association with NZ Blood Service Manukau Blood Donation Camp. 14th Nov, 4pm to 7.30pm at Manukau Blood Donor Cenre, 116 Cavendish Drive, Manukau
16th Nov: Celebrating the life of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji dedicated to the 550th birthday on 16th Nov, 5pm to 8pm Sri Dashmesh Darbar Gurudwara NZ, 166 kolmar road, Papatoetoe, 2025 Auckland
17th Nov: Celebrating the 550th birthday of Guru Nanak Sahib (The founder of Sikhism) on 17th Nov, morning till afternoon followed by Langar (community meal) at 1pm at Wellington gurudwara Sahib, 4 Vogel Street, Naenae, Wellington.
30th Nov: Live devotional hymms (Kirtan) and free shared kitchen (Langar) on 30th Nov, 5pm to 8pm at Aotea square, Queens Street, Auckland. Organized by Guru Nanak’s Free Kitchen Auckland
