The No Moon day which falls on Monday is known as Somvati Amavasya. Keep silence through out the day is observed on this day and taking bath in holy rivers is regarded as auspicious on this day. Other rituals on this day are watering plants (specially Peepal tree), feeding cow and offering food & clothes to the needy.
